Despite her relatively young age, Julia Rioboo (Seville, 1995) was able to build extensive acting experience, making her today one of the most promising actresses of Spanish origin. She has demonstrated it through her sensational performance as a protagonist in more than thirty short films as well as seven theatre plays.
Julia had it crystal clear since she was a child that her future would be related in one way or another to the world of acting and performing arts. As a little girl, she had already managed to practice theater in her hometown’s Dos Lunas theatre company, premiering in Seville two plays in the “Fundición” and “Sala Cero” halls. In high school, she obtained her Baccalaureate with a specialty in Performing Arts, later completing her undergraduate degree in Dramatic Arts at the Superior School of Dramatic Arts in Seville. In May of 2015 she took an acting course taught by director Gracia Querejeta. In September of 2018, she moved to New York, where she currently resides, after earning a scholarship to pursue a Masters in Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy.
Experience as an actress
As early as in 2012, she performs in the play “Bubbles” at the La Fundición Theater in Seville with the Dos Lunas Producciones Company. In 2013, she becomes part of the company and premieres “Adolescence” of Ana Donoso in Sala Cero. She then works with Estrella Távora playing Mss. Beetle in The Butterfly’s Evil Spell. During her time at the E.S.A.D. in Seville, she plays different roles both in classical productions such as “The Wise Women” by Moliere directed by José Manuel Martí, and in contemporary theater, notably in “Toska” directed by Mar Rodríguez and premiered at the Central Theater.

In 2015 she shoots her first short film as the protagonist, “Diary of a Skater” by director Jesús Graván, who goes on to choosing her for his next work “One more day without you” with Juan Carlos Sánchez, receiving the special mention from the Jury as “best actress” at the Jaen festival for short films.

She then plays the protagonist role in the short film “My name is Laura” which gets 691,000 views on YouTube, but it is in fact New York City that allows her to participate in more than 30 films such as “Amnesia”, “Faded Love”, “The swang song”, “Rough cut”, and “My Love”.
